YUAF EMPOWERS
YUAF Empowers is a personal development programme for
young people. Through creativity, we explore their identity,
helping them gain a greater understanding about their
dreams, visions and goals with an aim to positively impact
mental health.
Taking place both on and off of our unique Outreach Media
Bus, we meet with students during an agreed upon time
with the school (either during or after school). The project
delivers thought provoking and engaging group activities,
led by experienced youth facilitators.
YUAF provides a complementary service to what is already
offered by the school as part of its Duty of Care. It helps
identify young people with additional support needs and is
another referral route for young people who have not responded to previous services.

SCHOOL SHOWCASE
Embarking on a 10-week programme at your school is a truly exciting venture. Centering on nurturing critical consciousness and fostering creativity, pupils will delve into various topics, expressing their understanding creatively through songwriting, rap, singing, podcasts, and music production. By the end of the programme, they will have a tangible output of their self-expression. Get ready for an enriching journey of self-discovery, creative expression, and collaborative accomplishment!
COURSE FLOW
Classroom Weeks 1, 3 ,5, 7
Classroom sessions will be held with a teacher supporting the session. YUAF will supply a Leader-in-Charge and a Lead Artist Facilitator to lead on the songwriting/podcast creation. Teachers are asked to take care of behaviour management and liaise with the LIC to holistically support generating activities and creative exercises.
Media Bus Weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, 9
During Media Bus sessions, we ask that a teacher float between the two floors offering encouragement. Pupils will be working directly with the Lead Artist Facilitator and Music Producer to create their songs/podcasts.
Final Session
Pupils will share their work with parents, teachers and potentially peers.
