OUTREACH
Through Creativity in Communities, our double-decker Outreach Media Bus converts into a multi-media studio, providing an exciting space that inspires young people to build their confidence, skills, healthy relationships and communities while providing access to positive role models and expanding their aspirations.
Our team go directly to where young people live, on estates, on the streets and in schools to start the journey to support their mental well-being needs. We help them make positive life choices by identifying their needs and matching them with opportunities within our network.
Our schools-based empowerment programmes focus on personal development and mental well-being. We utilise creative thinking to help young people develop a constructive way to process their emotions in a healthy way within a safe space. Our programme delivers dynamic, fun and engaging group activities to help them open up about their feelings and identify support needs through the facilitation of an external tutor.

OPPORTUNITIES
Our mission has expanded into building opportunities to help young people further develop their skills and employment opportunities. YUAF Futures provides young people, aged 16 - 19, from communities challenged by inequality (BAME, LGBTQIA, disabled teenagers and those living in poverty) with opportunities to help them progress into desirable workplaces or gain a qualification, skill or training that leads to improved possibilities. We also want to build a support system and self-belief in the youth community to drive their aspirations while at the same time increase diversity and inclusion in workplaces.
YUAF Talks is a series of masterclasses where creative industry professionals share their journey, offer guidance and allow young people to gain insight and network.

LEADERSHIP
Young Urban Arts Foundation seeks to enable Youth Leadership in a multitude of ways. As a charity whose focus is largely the positive progression of young people through the creative arts, it is important for us to make as many opportunities as possible to enable young people to take up leadership roles that aid them in developing their skills, help inform the future direction of YUAF, and serve as role models to their peers.
The Young Leaders Programme is a rolling 12-week leadership development programme with 8 young people aged 12-21. They are guided to further their own personal development and participate in leadership mentoring.
Our Youth Ambassadors, aged 18+, are all past beneficiaries of YUAF’s programmes. The group helps to support and promote YUAF in the public, while also advising on current and future workshops.
